By-laws
a) Time. The games are allocated 35min
(from Sept 2010). Each half is 16min.
b) Mixed games. There must be a minimum
of 2 girls on the field excluding the
keeper. So GK + 2 males (maximum) +2 females
(minimum).
Field of play
The baseline is in yellow and lines up
with the front of the goal posts. The
sidelines are in blue.
All other Futsal makings are in blue,
including the keepers box.
Slide tackles
1. Slide tackles are not permitted in
this comp under any circumstances.
2. The rule generally states that the
ball must not be played at whilst on the
ground. However, it is accepted that it
can be played from the ground provided
that no other player is within striking/playing
distance of the ball.
General Information
1. Game Starts & Kick Offs
a) Games are scheduled to start as per
the schedule. If a team is 4min late they
will have to forfeit.
b) The attacking team can no longer score
directly from a kick off (from Sept 2010).
The defending team must be outside the
3m circle.
2. Goal Keepers
a)" Two Touch". Keeper's will
receive an indirect free kick against
them if they touch the ball after they
release it from their control and it hasn't
touched an opoosition player. This includes
a keeper taking a kick in.
b) "back-pass"; if he touches
or controls the ball with his hands after
it has been deliberately kicked to him
by a team-mate. This includes "kick
ins" from team mates.
c) Handling the ball outside the keeper's
area. The position of the ball determines
if it is handled outside the keepers box.
It doesn't matter whether the keeper's
feet or body are inside the box.
3. Kick ins
a) You have 4 seconds to take the kickin
from when your team has possesion of the
ball. The ball must be stationary when
placed on or behind the line AND your
feet must be outside the court or stepping
on the line. See the Laws of the game

b) The player kicking the ball is the
only one the referee will listen to if
a complaint is made that the defending
team is too close.
c) Goals cannot be scored directly from
kick ins or kick offs.
4. Accumulated Fouls
a) Each team is allowed 3 fouls per half.
Each foul after that is taken at the second
penalty mark or where the fould was commited.
ALL players must be behind the ball and
5m away. This resets at half time.
5. Substitutes
a) Subs must be in their own half. So
SWAP sides at half time.
b) Subs must wait for the player to come
off the field before subbing on.
6. Red Cards
a) ALL red cards are a 1 week suspension.
b) Red Carded players can not come back
onto the field to play. He must leave
the field. A team will have to wait 2min
before a new player can be substituted
to take the red carded player's place.
If there is no substitue the team will
have to play minus the red carded player.
7. Spare players
a) You can borrow a player from another
team to make 4 players. A team needs 4
players to kick off.
8. Ball hitting the ceiling/basketball
hoop
a) As the venue is indoor, if the ball
hits the ceiling it is counted as out
of play and a kick in is taken by the
defending team. There is also an overhanging
basketball hoop above the goal at each
end. The same rule applies.
